If you are using a Snowflake database with the GoodData Platform, please note the following:
In April, Snowflake will begin transitioning to an M2M (machine-to-machine) authentication policy. You can read more about this change in Snowflake’s official announcement.
Because of this transition, basic username/password authentication will no longer be supported for Snowflake data sources. If you are using the GoodData Platform - which does not currently support key-pair authentication - you must switch your Snowflake user type to LEGACY_SERVICE (as described in the Snowflake article) by the end of March to maintain connectivity. This workaround will remain functional until November, when it will be permanently discontinued.
We plan to introduce a solution that will allow you to connect to Snowflake via key-pair authentication. We will keep you updated in the upcoming weeks, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transition.
