What's New in Release 75?
The latest version of GoodData is bringing some more performance boosts to both our front-end as well as back-end infrastructure. In addition, we are also bringing you a new feature which will allow you to display images in the cells of tabular reports to make your reports visually delightful!
Here's the run down on Release 75:
- Images in Tables
- Performance Boost
Images in Tables
Let's say you want to create a tabular report where you'd like to have an attribute column that will display the profile pictures of members of your team. With this nifty new feature, you will now be able to do so.
In order to add images to your table cells, it's necessary to have an attribute column(e.g. "Image") in your data set which contains the image urls. The data will now be shown as an image and not as a "url" string in your GoodData project. The ratio of image width to image height should be 2:3. An example is shown below:
To configure the links to be displayed as images is a little more technical, we will create a User Interface for this functionality a little later. For now we will be happy to set it up for you. Please contact our support for assistance.
Performance Boost
As part of Release 75, we completed another round of optimizations to our platform in order boost overall performance. As a result, reports and dashboards will take significantly less time to load. In addition, report calculations will also be performed much faster with our improved pre-calculation mechanism along with the many other front-end and back-end enhancements.
We hope you enjoy Release 75 and there's definitely more to come. Stay tuned!
