Thu, November 2nd, 2023: GoodData Cloud Release

Scheduled GoodData Cloud Release will start on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at 02:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (other time zones). The Release is planned to take up to 1 hour. Platform will not be locked during this time, but it is possible that you will encounter intermittent failures while the release is in progress.

What will it bring?

• GoodData.UI 9.3.0

  This update includes the following improvements:

  • The headline can now display two measures, enabling comparison customization via the config.

  • We are also introducing client call caching.

  Python SDK 1.8

  • Adds the support for dashboard permissions 'share with everyone',  user group names, organization settings and csp directives.

• Breaking Change in REST API

  We have implemented a breaking change in the REST API endpoint /API/v1/actions/workspaces/{workspaceId}/execution/afm/computeValidObjects. Please note that any request utilizing UNRECOGNIZED in the key type will now be rejected. This change is effective from P32 onwards.

  The value UNRECOGNIZED held no significance within this API. If you are currently using it, simply remove it from your requests. This removal will not impact the functionality of the endpoint in any way.

  Enhanced Bucket Size for Pivot Tables

  In response to high demand from our customers, we are expanding certain bucket limits for our pivot table visualization.

  New Limits:

  • Column Attributes = 20 (no planned increase)

  • Row Attributes = 50 (20 up to the current version)

  • Metrics = 100 (20 up to the current version)

  It's important to note that these expanded limits will not be universally available. To maintain system performance, we are making the extended limits accessible under specific conditions:

  1. If you use at least one column attribute, the maximum number of metrics and row attributes will remain at the current limit of 20.

  2. In cases where a user has more than 20 metrics or 20 row attributes, the column attributes bucket will be disabled until the total items in the other two buckets are reduced to 20 items or less. This ensures balanced usage and maintains system efficiency.

  Limitation:

  The maximum size of a dimension containing metrics in a query result (metrics in rows) remains capped at 1000.

How will it affect you?

2:00 AM - 3:00 AM: The GoodData Cloud platform and all applications may be intermittently unavailable. API calls to the GoodData Cloud platform may intermittently fail.

NOTE: The GoodData Platform will not be affected by this release.
