Bar chart plus line chart

I saw that in "Marketing Analytics" Demo Project there is a report that is composed by a line chart plus an area chart. The type of this chart is "Custom Chart".

I need to build a new char composed by a bar chart plus a line chart. How I can do that? Can I use two differents Y-Axis ? (One with values for the bar chart and one for the values of the line chart)

Thank you in advance.

Hi Lorenzo,

Yes, to create a combo chart, it's necessary to have at least two metrics, one measured on the primary axis, and the second measured on the secondary axis.

For each axis, you can define a chart type, and in this way you can have a combo bar/line chart. Details on how to configure this in your reports can be found here:   (about half way down the page)

Ray, is it possible on a Combo Chart to show two metrics "side by side" while a third metric on a separate Axis? For example we have this report now which is stacking last year (STR [CE LY]) behind this year (STR [CE TY]). The customer would like to show them side by side for each month, while still having the green/red trend line on a separate axis. Please advise.

Hi Jim,

I'm sorry about this problem. This is a known issue that affects a combo chart with two series of bars and one secondary series as a line. We are aware of this and are working to solve this problem, but the nature of this has proven trickier and more complex than it should be, so I can't give a reliable fix date at this point. I will post back here with any new developments. Many apologies for this problem.

How about a stacked bar plus line chart? Really helpful when looking at w/w forecast vs plan.
